What We Believe

Sovereign God
We believe there is one God: externally existing in three separate roles as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (what we call the Trinity). Similarly, a man can exist as a husband, a father and a brother and yet he is one individual.                                                 (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19,

I Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:4-6).

Scriptures
We believe that the Scriptures are the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the final authority in all matter of faith and practice. We believe that God has preserved His Word in the form of the Holy Bible which serves as His revelation of Himself to us, as well as the "instruction manual" for how we are to conduct ourselves as His highest creation

(2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

Sin
We believe mankind was created in the image of God to have perfect fellowship with Him. But through disobedience to God (sin), mankind was sentenced to die. Because of this sin, mankind suffers not only physical death, but also spiritual death - which is eternal separation from God. Now all of mankind exists as a fallen race with an inherited sin nature (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 3:1-19, Psalm 51:1-19, Romans 3:9-23, Romans 6:23).

Salvation - Sin's Solution
We believe God provides a solution for redeeming the sinner - in the Person of Jesus Christ. Jesus was born without any sin of His own, yet He took the sins of the world upon Himself. Jesus died on the cross where He bore the punishment for every person's sin and was then buried in a tomb where He took away our sins forever. He rose from the grave victorious over sin and through faith in Him and Him alone, we may receive eternal life and be reconciled to God. Jesus ascended to heaven where He lives to intercede for us and we will one day join Him there (Isaiah 53:1-12, 1 Peter 2:24, John3:16, John 11:25-26, John 14:1-6, Romans 10:9-10 & 13, 2 Corinthians 5:16-20, Hebrews 7:25).

Son of God
We believe Jesus Christ, who eternally exists, is the only begotten Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life and never sinned; however, He became sin for us in order to redeem us from sin. He was and is fully God and fully man. Jesus came from heaven to live as a man for the purpose of saving mankind from the penalty of eternal separation from God [spiritual death]. One day, every person will bow to Jesus as Lord (Luke 1:30-55, Luke 19:10, John 1: 1-15, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Philippians 2:5-11).

Service
The local church is a group of Jesus' followers founded upon the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Those who form the church are baptized as Jesus was and have banded together for edification, exhortation and evangelism as commanded by Jesus in the Great Commission. Followers of Jesus have been given the privilege of proclaiming the Gospel to everyone (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, 1 Corinthians 12:12, Ephesians 1:22-23).

End Times
Jesus will soon come again in the air when all of His believers (His Church) will be "caught up" with Him in the clouds to receive their reward for service in His name and be changed into His divine likeness. The unbelievers left behind will suffer through a period of time called The Tribulation, after which Christ will return to the Earth to set up His Millennial Kingdom (one thousand years of His righteous rule). And after this, the unbelievers of all ages will stand before Jesus at the Great White Throne to be judged and receive their penalty for not believing in Jesus as Savior and be cast into the Lake of Fire - separated from God forever. Those who believe in Jesus and live their lives trusting Him will spend eternity in the fullness of joy in Heaven with the Lord (Matthew 24:29-42, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 19:11-20; 20:150.
